Who We Are
My Passion for Crystals
About 20 years ago, I attended an event called Bakti Fest in Joshua Tree, California. While there, I met a vendor who seemed like an angel of light—he literally appeared to glow. He was the most beautiful being I had ever laid eyes on. He was selling crystals I had never seen before, and at that time, I had never even heard of crystals. I purchased three from him, and to this day, I still have two of those original pieces.
From that moment on, it seemed that everywhere I went, there was a crystal shop. I began with a very modest collection, but my curiosity and connection to crystals grew deeper over time. At some point, I decided that when I retired, I would open a small crystal store. I assumed that dream was still many years away.
As fate would have it, I was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and was no longer able to maintain my corporate job. Instead, I opened a tiny little store at the corner of Halifax and International Speedway. I kept a cot in the back, where I would rest after chemotherapy each day. The store never made a fortune, but the energy of the crystals, a renewed sense of purpose, and simply having something beautiful to focus on helped carry me through. Along the way, I met incredible people who became my customers—and many of them still visit us today.
The Journey
In 2024, Hurricane Helene severely damaged each side of the shop. For several months, we had no customers and were faced with a difficult decision: close the store or move. Our new home became 226A South Beach Street. When we first moved in, it felt enormous—four times the size of our original space. Somehow, we have managed to fill every corner with an extraordinary crystal collection.During a trip to the Dominican Republic, I discovered Larimar, and today we carry a significant Larimar collection. The majority of our amethyst, citrine, rose quartz, and other crystal pieces come from a family-owned mine in Brazil. I was fortunate to connect with this third-generation mining family, who provide us with high-quality, collector-grade stones. We also carry pieces from all over the world, including Morocco, stunning lapis lazuli from Pakistan, and crystals in nearly every form imaginable.
We have tables, geodes, trees, birds, angels, wings, towering pieces as tall as I am, and others small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.
